In 1995, Rosbottom Interests began investing in the area of quality, branded, limited service properties. Its first venture was a partnership that resulted in the purchase of a property and its subsequent renovation into a Holiday Inn Express. This property, in Shreveport, Louisiana, later received the Holiday Inn Express of the Year Award.

The company then moved forward with a plan for expanding this business segment. In April 1998, Hampton Inn (Houma, Louisiana) was opened. In June 1998, the company acquired a hotel in St. Francisville, Louisiana. This was an existing 100-room hotel that the company renovated and branded as a Best Western.

The properties are currently managed on a contract basis by professional management companies.
